About This Project

South Africa’s biggest music festival finally returned in 2022 after a 2 year hiatus due to Covid-19 and delivered on all fronts. Festival goers now had access to four main arenas as the focal points of the festival. The Johnnie Walker Jungle (Cape Town and Johannesburg) hosted the larger band oriented headliners; the Savanna Beach Club (Cape Town) was home to sun kissed lovers of houses music; Maybelline Station (Cape Town) transported its audience into a New York style subway station where the darker side of electronic music could be experienced; and finally The Heineken House (Cape Town) paid homage to the streets with a double level stage where VIPs could experience the very best rap and hip hop artists up close.
Bad Weather were once again responsible for the design and management of all stage and technical elements across the entire festival, with our broadcast solution enhancing the video real estate of the Johnnie Walker Jungle.
In the months leading up to the event, Bad Weather created virtual stage reveals for all arenas. Using augmented reality, we were able to use real footage from the farm to combine our technical stage drawings to give the audience a taste of what was to come.
